Pench National Park falls in the most beautiful natural state of Madhya Pradesh and covers areas in the Seoni and Chhindwara districts near the border of Maharashtra. The central area of the tiger reserve covers 411 square kilometers. The Pench Tiger Reserve comprises approximately 1,200 square kilometers of forest area, in addition to a buffer zone that covers more than 760 square kilometers. The area is home to a wide variety of plants and animals.
Traveling through this Tiger Reserve offers you the chance to see three distinct forest types: Southern Tropical Dry Deciduous, Southern Dry Mixed Deciduous, and Southern Tropical Tropical Deciduous. Numerous rare and endangered plant species, including creepers, shrubs, and trees
(such as Mahua, Teak, Amaltas, Tendu, Bija, Khair, and Palas), number about 1200 in the area. Apart from this, Pench forests are also home to a large number of ethnobotanical plants.
The area is home to a wide variety of animals, birds, insects, and reptiles, proving the diverse ecology of the region. It is common to see large herds of Indian bison, chital, nilgai, sambhar, and wild boar. The main predators are the royal Bengal tiger, leopard, wolves, and wild dogs.
Sloth, spotted deer, jackal, fox, barking deer, palm civet, forest cat, porcupine, hyena, Indian civet, langur, and other mammal species have also been spotted in the national park. In addition to these creatures, the area is home to more than 105 different species of moths, butterflies,

Pench, the safari is available in summer and winter. However, during the monsoon season, the woodlands stay closed owing to heavy rains. There are several zones within the Pench National Park. Whereas six are in Madhya Pradesh, the remaining are in Maharashtra.
This is the most busy zone, open from October to June. Morning and afternoon pench safari bookings at Touria Gate can be provided within this place.
Sharing a little with Touria Gate, this zone is considered uptown. The safari timings are available for both morning and afternoon in this place.

This is a huge hulk of Pench. Called BMW because of the notable marking of letters B,M and W on its left thigh. First sighted in 2006 this male is about 11 years of age. Bmw’s ancestry is unknown but he has fathered cubs of many pench tigresses.
Raiyakassa male or Sula male is very much in his prime called sula cause of the wine glass marking he adorns.He has his territory in raiyakassa area.This 10 year old hunk is very charming and is favourite boy of Pench.
Sister of the famous Collorwali tigress, this one is shy and reserved. She grew up in spotlight of her vivacious sister but eventually opened up,got her own territory and has mothered multiple litters. Currently, she has 4 cubs all hale and hearty and lives happily in the Mowgli Land.

Together with her sister and two brothers she grew up under the spotlight of the wildlife ‘Big Brother’ TV programme, as the four cubs of the ‘Spy in the Jungle’ series, which was to be such a huge hit around the world in 2008.This beautiful lady rules the surrounding area near Pench River. Most famous tigress of Pench ,she is just 10 years old. And she has reputation of mothering highest number of cubs of about 22 in her life till date.
